Responsible for all Maintenance aspects of a Manufacturing Facility, including Capital and COGS budget, Production equipment, Environmental Compliance (ISO 14001),  MRO Purchasing, Waste Water Treatment.

Achievements

·        Successfully managed ISO 14001 Environmental Management System Implementation  and Certification.  Recycled over 600 tons of scrap per year for over $30,000 net income.  Received 3 Statewide Environmental Awards.

·        Reorganized department to better suit business needs,  improved MRO Purchasing Customer Service and reduced Parts Crib out-of-stock occurrences.

·        Instituted Fundamental Programs,  towards a long term strategic goals, that previously did not exist; such as, engineering plant standards,  production equipment rebuild program, Predictive Maintenance Techniques for Vibration Analysis of Critical Systems equipment.

Achievements

·        Developed and managed the budget for a multifunctional engineering group with a $1.4MM expense and $7 MM capital plan for R&D, production & facilities coordinated with plant engineering budgets.

·        Coordinated Six Sigma Engineering Certification training program resulting in 24 certified engineers in division and plant engineering departments.

·        Managed closure and transfer of R&D facility to a new location,  including Chemical,  Microbiological, Physical Testing and Packaging Ship Test Labs.

Complete “project team management” and guidance of cross-functional team through all phases of new product development, manufacturing and market introduction.  Provide project management and technical expertise for various manufacturing applications and platforms.

Achievements

·        Led development team for a new product for a major chip manufacturer,  which met specific technical requirements resulting in an annual gross profit of $3 MM.  Project included Financial Cost Standards, Profit & Loss statements,  ISO 9001 Design Control Documentation, new equipment & validations.

·        Managed the capacity expansion of a Class 1 clean room in an international facility that doubled the production capacity while improving efficiency and utilization via flow-through equipment design.

·        Transferred production of specialty products from a US based facility to an international facility without loss of quality or service levels including equipment, technology and process training.

  Project Manager over various types of manufacturing and new product disciplines for several manufacturing plants both domestic and internationally.

Achievements

·        Successfully managed $4.5 MM latex dipline upgrade with a 45% IRR.  Accomplished goal of creating a State of the Art production line, which was also used for R&D of new products and processes.

·        Evaluated third party partnership/licensing  proposal for technical and financial feasibility.

 

MAYBELLINE COSMETICS COMPANY,  North Little Rock, Arkansas    06/86 – 04/91

Senior Project Engineer

Responsible for management and coordination of plant projects for construction, alterations, installation and maintenance of production facilities including equipment and buildings.

Achievements

·        Designed & installed various production lines for new product launches and efficiency improvements.

·        Designed and implemented UltraPure Reverse Osmosis water system, which enabled Maybelline to launch a new family of products and successful marketing campaign.

·        Elected by peers as chairman of the Maybelline Leadership Organization.

Project Engineer                                                            1984 - 1986

Responsible for manufacturing upgrades and maintenance of various sheet metal and assembly operations in an appliance facility.

Achievements

·        Converted painting operation from a “batch” to a “continuous” manufacturing process which increased production capacity by 15%.

·        Successfully engineered the required manufacturing systems to fabricate and assemble an over/under washer/dryer combination unit.  This accomplishment required acquisition and operation of CNC sheet metal production equipment.
